Sail lofotens Aurora Borealis

8 Days

This year we visit the Lofoten Islands in spring. Embarking in the harbour at Lødingen we sail for Tysfjord. We plan to land at Musken, a Sami community and later visit the untouched wilderness area of Hellemobotn, close to the Swedish border with small chances of seeing reindeer. We visit the Stone Age petroglyphs at Leiknes and climb the hill at Skarvberget looking for sea eagles. We will visit the lighthouse at Tranøy and Skrova, a small, rugged island and one of the few places in Norway where the locals still hunt minke whales. We end our voyage at Vestbygd before returning to Lødingen.

These voyages are very dependent on the weather which can be quite rough, so the itinerary is provisional.
